With the emphasis on catering for pleasure anglers, Pipehill Fisheries has two intimate pools and an open rectangular water which is ideal for small club matches.
While both pleasure lakes are ver appealing, first time visitors may prefer Hollybush Pool as a starting point. It is about 1.25 acres with 20 hard pegs. A small island at the entrance end and several beds of lillies and reeds mean all pegs have plenty of features to fish towards.
There are carp to just under 10lb and plenty between 2lb and 4lb, plus ghost carp to 6lb. Hollybush also holds crucians to 2lb, tench, roach, rudd, perch and bream.
At 5ft deep with an even bottom, it is an easy water to fish with either pole or waggler. Popular baits are small pieces of luncheon meat, sweetcorn, maggots and soft hooker pellets, all fished over a bed of feeder pellets. In winter, maggots, worms and casters produce good results.
Keepnets, floating baits, boilies and hemp are not allowed.
